While Essie's 'Aruba Blue' is not a traditionally festive colour, jewel tones are always part of winter colour palettes and this sapphire nail polish is stunning.

This polish is so smooth and a dream to apply. You are left with a completely opaque effect after two coats. The brush is perfectly shaped to create a neat and oval outline at the base of the nail which helps to produce the result of a more professionally finished manicure. I would suggest the use of an undercoat since, as with most dark polishes, I was left with a blue cast on my nails when it was removed. However, it was nothing too sinister and with an extra scrub was easily removed.
Two coats with no base or top coat
This is definitely a stand out polish, which will garner a lot of attention. Its frosty finish lends itself perfectly to the party season. When twinkling Christmas lights hit your nails you are presented with a beautiful sparkle. I usually opt for cream finishes in nail polishes, but this frost finish gives a glacial effect adding to the festive feel.
I definitely recommend this polish as it is such a rich and pigmented colour, which will enhance your winter wardrobe.
